Share your findings with your community
The WQI (Water Quality Index) Project is an experiential investigation of your water quality and watershed. It guides learners as they explore water in their community, consider water challenges around the world, and share their findings with others around the country.
Once you've tested your field sample, share its Water Quality Index with the world!
The WQI Project kit provides the tools and materials for an entire classroom to measure the quality of your local water sources. Kits also include a field guide for each student and (coming soon) a complete teacher guide. These materials teach students about water quality in an engaging and scaffolded way.
Our open source calculator allows anyone with the necessary equipment to calculate the Water Quality Index (WQI) of their water sample. Take it for a test drive.
